Maywood's Very Own Isiah Brandon Maywood Trustee
Trustee Isiah Brandon was born in Chicago IL and raised in Maywood IL. He is a proud graduate Washington elementary school and Proviso East High School and a Graduate of Triton College Trustee Brandon Plans to attend North Eastern University to finish his degree in Public Administration.
In today’s society, it’s difficult to find young people making a difference in the community. This is not the case when you come to the Village of Maywood. Twenty-seven year old youth activist, community organizer and Maywood Trustee Isiah Brandon, has made a major impact in his community. He has been the voice for the youth and the residents of the community fighting for jobs, recreational activities, businesses and a quality of life for all residents. Isiah has also led the way to stomp out the violence across the Proviso Township community by hosting “A Cry To Save Our Youth”, campaign to advocate for violent-free communities. Isiah has also worked with Proviso Township, businesses, organizations, park districts and the Faith Base community. Brandon has received many awards and has been recognized by media as, “Someone you should know,” and the “Talk of the town.” Brandon is also the 2010 Dr. King Dream Kenote speaker and award winning recipient. Isiah has sat on many boards; he currently serves as the founder and Executive Director of Youth on the Move, a 501c3 nonprofit youth organization that provides educational and recreational youth enrichment programs and outreach initiatives for youth in the Proviso Township and Chicago land communities. For almost two years he served as Student Trustee at Triton Community College Dist 504 and chair of the Illinois Community College board Student Advisory Committee. He is a past member of the Youth Advisory Committee,” Illinois Violence Prevention Authority. He has also served as co-chair for the Maywood-Bellwood Relay for Life. Isiah has chaired the “meeting of the minds” group that consists of park districts from across Proviso Township, Triton College, University of Extension and the Office of Proviso Township. Isiah is also a current member of NOMCO. As Maywood Trustee Isiah brings the experience and Knowledge necessary to help the village be the shining light that all can see.
Isiah has worked diligently as a job creator to create job opportunities for residents in the community, working with different levels of government and the business community to bring resources back to the community. His work in the community has made a real impact. Isiah Will continue to be the voice of the people with a focus On the Economic development which makes up the fabric of the community.
